Firefighters called to Garden Drive for a fire at new home site

Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, 10:03 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to a new home under construction on Garden Drive at about 9:30 Friday night. Firefighters arrived to find the fire was a controlled burn of construction materials. Firefighters explained that construction materials cannot be openly burned and to avoid doing so in the future. Firefighters were on scene for a short time.
