Nelson Circuit Court Indictments, Oct. 2, 2013
Editor’s Note: The indictment of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 – The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013. They were arraigned on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, unless otherwise indicated.
13-CR-234. Thomas Frank Hawkins, 26, Bardstown, possession of controlled substances, first-degree and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same; persistent felony offender, first-degree.
According to the indictment, on Aug. 5, 2013, Hawkins — acting alone or in concert with Cora Yearns — allegedly possessed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The indictment cites Hawkins’ previous convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-235. Gary Anthony Aldridge, 45, Bardstown, burglary, third-degree; theft by unlawful taking under $500.
According to the indictment, on Aug. 4, 2013, Aldridge allegedly entered Joy’s Grocery and stole cash in amount under $500. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-236. Cora Michelle Yearns, 36, Bardstown, possession of controlled substances, first-degree and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on Aug. 5, 2013, Yearns — acting alone or in concert with Thomas Frank Hawkins — allegedly possessed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-237. Charles Stillman Yocum, 32, Bardstown, theft by failure to make required disposition of property valued at $500 or more; persistent felony offender, first-degree.
According to the indictment, on Jan. 31, 2013, Yocum agreed to purchase a 1974 Ford on a payment plan and failed to fulfill the terms of the agreement and failed to make the required disposition of the property having a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000. The indictment also cites Yocum’s prior felony convictions as basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
Jessica Lee Salsman, 31, Boston, possession of controlled substance and complicity to the same; possession of controlled substance, third-degree and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same; possession of marijuana and complicity to the same; possession of legend drugs and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on Aug. 16, 2013, Salsman — acting alone or in concert with David Gilpin, possessed methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, Tramadol and Flexeril pills. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-239. Roy L. Caddell, Jr., 26, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, second-degree and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same; persistent felony offender.
According to the indictment, on Feb. 7, 2013, Caddell — acting alone or in concert with Amanda Parkerson, sold buprenorphine to a confidential informant while in possession of drug paraphernalia. Caddell’s prior felony conviction was the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-240. David Keith Gilpin, 31, Boston, possession of controlled substances, first-degree and complicity to the same; possession of controlled substances, third-degree and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same; possession of marijuana and complicity to the same; possession of legend drugs and complicity to the same; persistent felony offender, first-degree.
According to the indictment, on Aug. 16, 2013, Salsman — acting alone or in concert with Jessica Salsman, possessed methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, Tramadol and Flexeril pills. The indictment cites Gilpin’s previous felony convictions as basis for the persistent felony offender charge.
Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-241. Amanda J. Parkerson, 27, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, second-degree and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on Feb. 7, 2013, Parkerson, acting alone or in concert with Roy Caddell, sold buprenorphine to a confidential information while in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-242. Ashley Lynn Nalley, 29, Bardstown, possession of a forged instrument, second-degree (11 counts); falsely reporting an incident.
According to the indictment,, on July 13 and 21, Aug. 10,13,17,25, 30, 31, and Sept. 8, and 9, 2013, Nalley allegedly passed 11 forged checks totaling $2802.04 drawn on the accounts of the Chapeze House; on Sept. 16, 2013, Nalley allegedly filed a false report with Bardstown Police stating that her debit card was stolen. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-243. David Shane Hutchins, 41, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school (2 counts) and complicity to the same; trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) (2 counts) and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia (2 counts) and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on Nov. 8 and 29, 2013, Hutchins — acting alone or in concert with Melissa Kays — sold marijuana (8 ounces or less) to a confidential source within 1,000 feet of Nelson County High Schol while in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-244. Arther Eugene Wilson, 42, Bardstown, making false statements to obtain increase of benefit of $100 or more.
According to the indictment, sometime between Sept. 26, 2007 and March 22, 2008, Wilson allegedly made false statements to receive unemployment benefits while working and failing to report earnings. Bail was set at $2,500 cash only, plus benefits.
13-CR-245. Melissa Dawn Kays, 35, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school (2 counts) and complicity to the same; trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) (2 counts) and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia (2 counts) and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on Nov. 8 and 29, 2013, Kays — acting alone or in concert with David Shane Hutchins — sold marijuana (8 ounces or less) to a confidential source within 1,000 feet of Nelson County High School while in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-246. Paul William Bosse, 42, Bardstown, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree; alcohol intoxication.
According to the indictment, on July 14, 2013, Bosse allegedly was found in possession of cocaine while under the influence of alcohol to the degree he could endanger himself or others or their property. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.
13-CR-247. Destiny Laine Thompson, 18, Bardstown, assault, second-degree. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-248. Joseph Lee Tinnell, 30, Bardstown, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-249. Maurice Dante Hardy, 25, Bardstown, burglary, second-degree.
According to the indictment, on Sept. 10, 2013, Hardy allegedly entered another person’s residence with the intent to commit a crime. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-251. Shon R. Shepherd, 43, Bloomfield, making false statements to obtain an increase of benefits, $100 or more.
According to the indictment, between Sept. 26, 2009 and March 6, 2010, Shepherd allegedly received unemployment benefits while working and failed to report earnings. Bail was set at $2,500 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-252. Shenqulla De’Shay Tonge, 23, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, second-degree; tampering with physical evidence; endangering the welfare of a minor (4 counts); possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the indictment, on July 2, 2013, Tonge allegedly sold Hydrocodone pills to confidential source, hid a package of pills in a clothes bin while in possession of drug paraphernalia. The indictment also alleges Tonge failed to exercise reasonable diligence to prevent minor children from becoming neglected. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-253. Michael Todd Maddox, 43, Bardstown, assault, second-degree.
According to the indictment, on Aug. 20, 2013, Maddox allegedly jumped off a porch onto another individual causing serious physical injury. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-254. Joseph David Knopp, 32, Lebanon, flagrant non-support.
According to the indictment, from April 18, 2012 through Aug. 31, 2013, Knopp failed to provide support resulting in an arrearage of $15,766.67. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-255. Aaron Scott Hypes, 31, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree; possession of controlled substances, third-degree; possession of prescription not in pa proper container; assault, fourth-degree.
According to the indictment, on Aug. 17, 2013, Hypes allegedly possessed an unspecified drug with the intent to sell or transfer it, and was found in possession of prescription drugs clonazepan and xanex pills not in a proper container. On the same date, Hype is alleged to have struck another individual in the head. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-256. Jonathan Eugene Thompson, 24, Bardstown, sexual abuse, first-degree, victim under 12 years of age (4 counts).
According to the indictment, sometime between Jan. 1, 2008, and Aug. 31, 2012, Thompson allegedly subjected two juveniles under the age of 12 to sexual contact. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
13-CR-257. Stephanie Lynn Huff, 26, Bardstown, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree; possession of drug paraphernalia; theft by unlawful taking under $500.
According to the indictment, on Sept. 3, 2013, Huff allegedly possessed cocaine and drug paraphernalia when she found taking items that belonged to Krogers. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
