Obituary: Rita Jean Durbin, 70, Bardstown

Rita Jean Durbin, 70, of Bardstown, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at her home.  She was born May 26, 1943, in New Middletown, Ind. She retired as circulation manager for The Kentucky Standard in 2009. She was a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

She preceded in death by her mother, May Annis Miller;  and a granddaughter, Michael Jean Durbin.

She is survived by her husband, Miles E. Durbin of Bardstown;  two sons, Miles E. Durbin, Jr. and Martin C. (Valerie) Durbin, both of Bardstown; one sister, Denise J. (Mark) Hoehn of Corydon, Indiana; three brothers, Ronald E. (Linda) Miller, Frederick A. Miller and Wayne G. Miller, all of Corydon, Ind.;  her father, Carl E. Miller of New Middletown, Ind.; one granddaughter, Scarlett A. Durbin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Corydon, Ind.,  with burial in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery.  Pastor Robyn Kistemaker will officiate.

Visitation is 2–8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013,  at Barlow Funeral Home and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Corydon, Ind.

Memorial contributions may go to the Nelson County Relay for Life.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
