Obituary: Alberta Gritton, 91, Cox’s Creek

Alberta Gritton, 91, of Cox’s Creek, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in Green Meadows Health Care in Mount Washington. She was the former Alberta Ash and a native of Jefferson County. She was a member of Little Union Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron “Red” Gritton and her adopted son, Gary Gritton.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and caregivers, Johnny and Wanda Chesser of Cox’s Creek.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Will Sipes officiating. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
