Threatening weather prompts changes in Halloween trick-or-treating events

Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, 10:30 a.m. — The chance of severe weather this evening has resulted in changes in some Halloween trick or treat plans across Nelson County.

BARDSTOWN. Trick-or-treating in Bardstown has been moved from Thursday to Friday night from 5-8 p.m. The downtown trick-or-treating event sponsored by the Bardstown Main Street program has also been moved to Friday from 3-5 p.m., with treats provided by downtown businesses.

This evening’s annual Halloween party at Dean Watts park has been moved to the Guthrie Opportunity Center on Nutter Drive from 6-8 p.m.

NEW HAVEN. Trick-or-treat in New Haven has been moved from tonight to Friday from 5-8 p.m.

BLOOMFIELD. The Bloomfield Baptist Church’s trunk-or-treat event has been moved indoors tonight due to the threat of bad weather. Mayor Rhonda Hagan said the decision on which night for trick-or-treat in Bloomfield is left to parents’ discretion.

NELSON COUNTY. Trick-or-treating in the unincorporated areas of the county is also moved to Friday night with no set time limits.
