Obituary: Mary Jean Beam Hall, 80, New Haven

Mary Jean Beam Hall, 80, of New Haven, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was born March 14, 1933, in funeral_lilyNew Haven and was the daughter of the late Harry Beam and Josephine Rogers Beam. She was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. She was head of the Altar Society and Bereavement Room. She was a former owner of Olde Time Florist, Bee Hive Ceramics and owner/operator of Hall & Hall Construction with her husband and son. She was a member of the Heaven Hoppers and New Haven Cloggers and an avid Bluegrass music buff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald “David” Hall Sr.; her twin sister, Jo Ann Beam Newton; and two brothers, Victor Beam and Johnny Beam.

Survivors include six daughters, Deanna Nalley of Bardstown, Cathy (Steve) Williamson of Hodgenville, and Jean Marie (Allen) Wimpsett, Betty Jo (Pat) Boone, Connie (Guy) Mouser, and Sandy (Mike) Spaulding, all of New Haven;
two sons, David Gerald “Jerry” Hall of New Haven and Victor (Cathy) Hall of Bardstown; one sister, Suzanne Mobbs of Louisville; three brothers, Melvin (Patty) Beam of Louisville, Mike Bean of New Haven and Hank (Martha) Beam of Niceville, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral was 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at St. Catharine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial was the church cemetery.

Visitation was Monday at The William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Sunrise Manor Nursing Home, 717 N. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville, KY 42748 or the charity of the donor’s choice.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
