Obituary: Mary Lucille O’Bryan Reiter, 96, New Haven
Mary Lucille O’Bryan Reiter, 96, of New Haven, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Audubon Hospital in Louisville. She was born Aug. 31, 1917 in New Hope. She was the daughter of the late Artie and Della O’Bryan. She was a member of the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. She was a teacher at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic School and a retired teacher at St. Catharine Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Meredith Reither; two sons, John Walter “Johnny” Reiter and George E. Reiter.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Del Mattingly of Winter Park, Fla.; Judy Chambless of Brunswick, Ga., Galena Thomson of Jackson, Mich. and Denise Reither of Indianapolis, Ind.; one son, Kenneth Reiter of Bardstown; two sisters, Carrie and Patsy; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in New Hope with the Rev. Ken Fortner officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, and 9-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, with a prayer service at 5 p.m. Thursday with Deacon Arnold Downs.
The William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St. in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
