Obituary: Joseph Daniel ‘Skeeter’ Mattingly, 60, Loretto

JOSEPH DANIEL ‘SKEETER’ MATTINGLY

Joseph Daniel “Skeeter” Mattingly, 60, of Loretto, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born June 30, 1953, in Marion County. He worked as an autobody repairman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Richard and Mary Pauline “Polly” Powell Mattingly.

Survivors include one sister, Lois Ann Washburn of Loretto; one brother, J.R. Mattingly, Jr. of Loretto; two nephews; and a special friend, Ramona Carter of Loretto.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle is the celebrant.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5 p.m.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
