Brohm steps down as Thomas Nelson High School football coach

Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 — Greg Brohm has stepped down from the head football coach position at Thomas Nelson High School according to Principal Wes Bradley. After spending two years in the head role Brohm has decided to take time over the next year to focus on completing graduate school and his teaching certification program.
A Nelson County Schools press release issued Tuesday said Brohm will remain at Thomas Nelson as a teacher.
“I’m grateful to the administration for the opportunity to begin this promising football program and proud of the courage that our players have shown in laying a strong foundation,” Brohm said. “The requirements of my graduate and teaching certification programs will not allow me to continue to give the time that is necessary to grow the program.”
“It takes a good deal of commitment starting a program from the ground up,” Bradley said. “We are thankful for Greg’s leadership over the past two years.”
Thomas Nelson Athletic Director Sara Thurmond attributed the football team’s advances to the energy Brohm brought to the program.
“We wish the best for Greg and will take the momentum he started to continue to move this program forward,” Thurmond said.
