Obituary: Robert Willard ‘Bobby’ Ferguson, Sr., 86, Bardstown
Robert Willard “Bobby” Ferguson, Sr., 86, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, in Elizabethtown. He was born July 16, 1927, in Bardstown. He was a retired employee of LG&E, an Army veteran of the Korean War and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Kinder Ferguson; two daughters, Carlene Neathery and Lucille Knight; two sisters, Dorothy Story and Helen Breeden; one brother, Hamilton Ferguson; and one grandson, John Paul Ferguson.
He is survived by one daughter, Cathy (David) Newman of Shepherdsville; two sons, R.W. (Katie) Ferguson, Jr., of Lebanon Junction, and Bruce Alan (Mary Joann) Ferguson of Taylorsville; three brothers, Donnie Ferguson and Bro. Isaac Ferguson, both of Bardstown, and Ed Ferguson of Georgetown, Ind; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is noon Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Tim Lucas will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
