Driver suffers serious injuries after being ejected in rollover crash

Saturday Dec. 14, 2013, 4:15 p.m. — An unidentified woman suffered life-threatening injuries Saturday afternoon when she was ejected from her vehicle in single-vehicle rollover crash on the Blue Grass Parkway.

The crash happened at about 2:10 p.m. at the 34-1/2 mile market in the parkway’s eastbound lanes. The vehicle apparently left the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver. Nelson County EMS arrived on the scene and requested a medical helicopter. The poor weather conditions grounded all area medical helicopters and none could respond. The woman was rushed to Flaget Memorial Hospital by EMS while EMTs conducted CPR. Two sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident scene.
