Icy road surfaces close Stringtown Road at Springfield Road

Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 — Cold temperatures and light snow create slick spots on county roadways and contributed to several motor vehicle accidents Thursday morning. Ice on Stringtown Road caused an early morning non-injury crash at its intersection with Springfield Road (KY 55) at 6:15 Thursday morning. The roadway was shutdown for about an hour due until a road department salt truck could respond to the area and wreckers could remove the vehicle from the scene.
