Driver arrested after trooper spots him driving recklessly at 100 mph
Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, 12:10 a.m. — The male driver of a 1998 BMW was arrested Friday afternoon after he was reported driving recklessly at a high rate of speed eastbound on the Bluegrass Parkway.
Nelson County Dispatch alerted local law enforcement of the report at about 3:48 p.m. A Kentucky State Police trooper on the parkway spotted the vehicle driving at speeds approaching 100 m.p.h. on the parkway. The trooper pursued the vehicle to Exit 21 where the driver turned south on New Haven Road and pulled over at the Bluegrass Tavern. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested at the scene and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
