Vehicle occupants leave scene after one-vehicle Deatsville Road crash

Saturday, Jan. 4, 2013, 1 p.m. — The occupants of a red 1995 pickup truck that crashed in the 7300 block of Deatsville Road left the scene before first-responders arrived Friday evening. The Bardstown Fire Department, Nelson County EMS and police were called to Deatsville Road at 8:30 p.m. for the crash on the stretch of road that was slick and hazardous. Witnesses said the vehicle’s occupants were picked up by another vehicle and they left the scene. Police requested the highway department treat the roadway in the area due to the buildup of ice. The vehicle was removed and police made contact with the registered owner.
