Obituary: William ‘Chad’ Leake, 52, Springfield

WILLIAM ‘CHAD’ LEAKE

William “Chad” Leake, 52, of Springfield, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2013, at his home. He was born Aug. 26, 1961, in Marion County. He formerly worked as a machinist with Conco Inc. in Louisville and was a Catholic by faith.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Purvis Leake; his parents, Charles Ray and Rosemary Bradshaw Leake of Springfield; two daughters, Amanda Thompson (Joe Pat) and Nikki Leake, both of New Haven; one son, Stephen Leake of New Haven; one stepson, Anthony Ayers of Louisville; four sisters, Marlene Bennett of Louisville, Patty Spalding (Joe Lee) and Leah Gerage, all of Bardstown, and Rosanne Mercer (Doug) of Louisville; two brothers, Chuck Leake (Brenda) and Zane Leake (Peggy), both of Bardstown; four grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, followed by cremation. the Rev. Terry Bradshaw will officiate.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Memorial donations may go toward funeral expenses.
