Two-vehicle crash sends three to area hospitals Friday afternoon

emslogoSaturday, Jan. 11, 2014, 2 a.m. — Three people were injured, one seriously, in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon about 3 p.m. at the intersection of North Third and Flamingo. Nelson County EMS and Bardstown Police were called out after a Ford F-150 pickup truck hit a Chevy pickup truck in the side in a “t-bone” collision. The Bardstown Fire Department was called to the scene to open vehicle doors to allow EMS access to the injured. The driver of one of the trucks was transported by Nelson County EMS directly to University Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The 18-year-old male driver of the other truck who complained of hip pain and a 20-year-old female passenger with neck and back pain were transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment. Firefighters remained on scene to clean up automotive fluids on the roadway.
