Obituary: Barbara Nalley Williamson, 77, Louisville, formerly of Loretto

Barbara Nalley Williamson, 77, of Louisville, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, surrounded by her family.

BARBARA NALLEY WILLIAMSON

She was born June 6, 1936. She was a native of Loretto and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She retired after 35 years with Our Lady’s Rosary Makers in Louisville.

Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of 56 years, Benedict O. Williamson; her parents, Francis Leslie and Mary Leona Mattingly Nalley; and two sisters, Imelda Hagan and Eleanor Cahoe.

Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Ambach (David), Susan Lawrence (Carl), Donna Williamson, all of Louisville; one son, Bill Williamson (Karen) of Louisville; one sister, Joan Malone of Louisville; one brother, Sam Nalley of Bardstown; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Linda Clark, of Clark’s Loving Care, New Albany, Ind., for the devoted and compassionate care given to their mother.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Holy Cross Church, Holy Cross. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle is the celebrant. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans Lane Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
