Officer’s cruiser lands in corn field while pursuing pickup truck
Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, 2 a.m. — A Nelson County Sheriff’s Deputy ended up with his cruiser stuck in a cornfield Monday night about 11 p.m. after he pursued a 2000 Chevy pickup truck that fled from him in the New Hope area. One passenger bailed out of the truck as it was traveling on Shirley Avenue. The driver was believed to have continued on Shirley Avenue toward a residence on Stringtown Road. Officers were searching for the driver and passenger at press time Monday night.
