Democrat Bobby Settles files as candidate for 4th District magistrate

Thursday, Jan. 16, 2013, 4:23 p.m. — Ben Irvin Road resident Bobby Settles filed today to run for the office of magistrate in the county’s 4th District.
Settles is the first Democrat to file for 4th District magistrate in the May primary. Settles ran as a Democrat four years ago and lost in the primary to David Shields. Republican Jeff Lear defeated Shields in the 2010 General election. Lear has already filed to run for the office again.
The deadline for filing for the May primary is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28.
