Man who wore stolen clothes out of store due for a wardrobe change

bardstownpolicepatchFriday, Jan. 17, 2014, 12:04 a.m. — A 22-year-old man who dashed out of Wal-mart at 12:05 p.m. Thursday without paying for the clothes he was wearing had less than 15 minutes of freedom in which to enjoy his new threads.

Several nearby police officers arrived at the store minutes after the call was broadcast by Nelson County Dispatch. The suspected shoplifter, a white man wearing a stolen ball cap, jacket and jeans, was last seen moments earlierĀ running in a field across the road from the store on Springfield Road. Officers caught up with the alleged shoplifter at 1723 Springfield Road, and he was in police custody by 12:22 p.m. The suspect was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
