Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, 4:30 p.m. — Donna Molyneaux of Bardstown is the first Republican candidate to file for the office of Nelson County Property Valuation Administrator. She turned in her candidacy paperwork at the Nelson County Clerk’s office Tuesday afternoon about 4 p.m.

Incumbent PVA Democrat Barbara Tichenor has already filed her candidacy paperwork to keep her office. Tichenor has served as PVA since 1997, and began working in the PVA office in 1980.

Molyneaux is a first-time candidate for office, and brings considerable experience in banking, computer science and real estate. She is a licensed Realtor for her husband real estate company, Kentucky Home Realty.

Molyneaux told the Gazette in an interview Tuesday afternoon if she elected she would like to make accessing property information more user-friendly. She said she would like to see information about the office works more available to the public.
