Democrat David Shields files as candidate for 4th District magistrate

Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, 12:40 p.m. — Bardstown businessman David Shields filed today to run for magistrate in the county’s 4th District.

Shields was the Democratic nominee four years ago and lost by 25 votes in a tight three-way race against Republican Jeff Lear and independent J.T. Fulkerson.

Lear has filed to keep his seat on Nelson Fiscal Court. Democrat Bobby Settles has also filed for the seat as a Democrat.

The filing deadline for the May primary is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014.
