Obituary: Guy Elder ‘Junior’ Mock Jr., 87, Bardstown
Guy Elder “Junior” Mock Jr., 87, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville. He was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Spencer County. He was retired from the U.S. Army Reserve Civil Service and Wal-Mart. He was an Army veteran of WW II, a member, Past Master, and Past Master’s Council of Euclid Masonic Lodge # 13 P.H.A., 33rd degree Mason of Louisville Consistory # 41, Past Commander of American Legion Post No. 167 and 4th District of American Legion of Kentucky, member of Cyrus Chapter # 4 R.A.M., the Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 3 in Elizabethtown, and the V.F.W. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Parkway Baptist Church and an avid bowler and bingo player.
He was preceded in death by one son, Guy E. Mock III; his parents, Guy and Katie Mock; and two sisters, Christine Oliver and Mary Virginia Hammonds.
He is survived by his wife, Willie C. Mock; three daughters, Valerie R. Shouse, Susan E. (Michael) Johnson, and Chris Anita Turner, all of Bardstown; one son, Sidney C. (Marie) Shouse; eight grandchildren, Emmanuel Mock, Samuel Mock, Sidney T. Shouse, Jocelyn J. Shouse, Tavon Johnson, Anya Turner, Cameron Turner, and Mikyle Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Parkway Baptist Church with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery. The Rev. Rodney Lynch will officiate.
Visitation is 5–8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at Barlow Funeral Home. The American Legion # 167 and Masonic Lodge # 13 will provide a prayer service at 6 p.m.
