SHIRLEY SUMMITT WILSON

Shirley Summitt Wilson, 69, of Bardstown, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at her home. She was born Jan. 21, 1945, in Nelson County. She was a certified Nursing Technician for Colonial Health and Rehab and a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Ann “Kim” Wilson; her parents, James and Irene Summitt; four sisters, Christine Harrell, Martha Lewis, Loraine Shelburne, and Naomi Mattingly; and four brothers, C.J., Floyd, Phillip, and James Summitt.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Wilson of Bardstown; one daughter, Jennifer (John) Gilpin of Elizabethtown; one son, Lloyd Wilson II of Jasper, Ind.; four sisters, Janie Richardson, Lula Snellen, Priscilla Ludka, and Linda Ritchie; one brother, Ralph Summitt; five grandchildren, Tiffany Sullivan, Tara Gilpin, Brittany Wilson-Rogers, Lacy Wilson, and Marcus Reynolds; two great-grandchildren, Brockelyn Wilson and Cameron Wilson.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with a private burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Dr. Rick Loader will officiate.

Memorial contributions may go toward a college fund for her grandson, Marcus Reynolds.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
