Audrey Haydon files as Democrat for 50th state representative

Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, 2:25 p.m. — Bardstown attorney Audrey Haydon has filed as a Democrat for 50th state representative.

Haydon filed Tuesday at the Secretary of State’s office in Frankfort.

She is a 2007 graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where she received a B.S. in Foreign Service. After college, Audrey went on to study at the American University Washington College of Law and graduated with honors in 2010. During law school she was an Articles Editor for the Administrative Law Review, and received the Thomas O. Sargentich Outstanding Junior Staff Award in 2009.

After graduation, Haydon returned to Bardstown and joined the law firm of her father, Ben Haydon Jr.

If no other candidates file today for the Democratic primary, Haydon will face incumbent Republican David Floyd in the November general election.

The filing deadline for the May primary is 4 p.m. today.
