Obituary: Charles A. ‘Slick’ Robinson, 79, Bardstown
Charles A. “Slick” Robinson, 79, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at his home. He was the owner of Western Auto in Bloomfield, worked at General Electric, Bird and Son and was a farmer all his life. He was a Christian by faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved his family, horses and his sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.B & Louise Stewart Robinson; one sister Ruby Armstrong; an infant son, Allen Robinson; and a very special uncle, Bob Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dorothy Williams Robinson; one daughter, Cathy Clark Enlow of Boston; one son, Stuart Wayne (Theresa) Robinson of Bardstown; three sisters, Shelby Anderson of Bardstown and Dorothy Kidwell and Connie Bland, both of Louisville; one brother, Bob (Vicki) Robinson of Bloomfield; and four grandchildren, Shelby Enlow, Caleb Enlow, Matt Robinson and Chris Wimsatt.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with burial in the Poplar Flat Cemetery with Bro. Bill Greer officiating.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at the funeral home.
Expression of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kosair Childrens Hospital or Hospice of Nelson Co.
Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
