Obituary: Joseph Benjamin Hamilton, 98, Lebanon

Joseph Benjamin Hamilton, 98, of Lebanon, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Lebanon. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha Young Hamilton.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Lancaster Hamilton of Lebanon; five daughters, Mary Kay (Leon) Mayo of Harrodsburg, Mahala (Pat) Mattingly of Lebanon, Virginia “Sugar” Hamilton of Lebanon, Beth (Ed) Lorenz of Newport, and Jo Marie (Ed) Lammy of Danville, KY; three sisters, Frances Leachman of Lebanon, Flaget Raby of Louisville, and Dorothy Jacobson of Augusta, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon. A prayer service is 7 p.m. Sunday evening with Deacon Joe Dant.

Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
