Obituary: Frank June Mattingly, 79, Bloomfield
Frank June Mattingly, 79, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Bullitt County. He was a retired farmer, a former employee of D.B. Sutherland & Sons and Lily-Tulip. He was a member of Little Union Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Charles Milton and Viola Mattingly and was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Mattingly; one sister, Frances Thomas; and one brother, W.C. Mattingly.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Coulter Mattingly; three daughters, Carol Curtsinger of Loretto, Becky Kelty of Manton, and Joyce Waldridge of Taylorsville;
two sons, Wayne Mattingly of Cox’s Creek and Tommy Mattingly of Bloomfield; one sister, Ruby Smith of Dayton; three brothers; Shelby Mattingly of Bloomfield, James Mattingly of Louisville, and Billy Mattingly of Tacoma, Wash; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Will Sipes and Bro. Winford Hagerman officiating. Burial is in Cox’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to the American Cancer Society.
The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
