Obituary: Paul McNear 74, New Haven, formerly of Fairdale

PAUL MCNEAR

Paul McNear 74, of New Haven, formerly of Fairdale, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. He was a native of Lebanon and a former Figure 8 Champion at Louisville Motor Speedway. He was a retired truck driver with more than 40 years on the road. He was a member of the Teamster Union.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Susie Malone McNear; and seven siblings.

He was survived by his wife of 57 years, Cecila Ann Dant McNear; three daughters, Pamela Jenkins (David) of Louisville, Theresa Hobbs of Mount Washington and Paula Eades (Tommy) of Coxs Creek; one son, Bobby McNear (Jodi) of New Haven; one brother, Pete McNear of Louisville; four grandchildren, Kevin, Jessica, Summer, and Austin; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, and 9-11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the funeral home.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
