Bloomfield Road reopened after truck crash, hazmat spill clean-up

hazmat1Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, 5 p.m. — Bloomfield Road between the “Y” (KY 55) and the City of Bloomfield was reopened to traffic in both directions at 7:25 Thursday night following an overturned truck and a hazardous materials spill at that location, according to Nelson County Dispatch.

The truck overturned at about 3:45 Thursday afternoon. The truck was leaking diesel fuel and anti-freeze, which was contained by responding firefighters from the Northeast Nelson Fire Department. The roadway was shut down at about 5 p.m. so the materials could be removed and the truck could be recovered.

Nelson County EMS, Bloomfield police and Nelson County EMA responded to the scene. The road was shut down at about 5 p.m. Thursday.
