Driver flees the scene after car hits Campground Road home

newfirelogoSunday, Feb. 9, 2014 — No one was injured when a house on Campground Road never Bloomfield was struck by a black Ford Taurus just before midnight Saturday night. The Northeast Nelson Fire Department and Nelson County EMS were called to respond to the scene after the operator of the Ford was believed to trapped in the vehicle. By the time police and fire units arrived, the driver of the Ford fled the scene on foot. The woman who lived in the home was not injured. Police believe the operator of the Taurus lived nearby on Yates Cooney Neck Road. Firefighters were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
