Firefighters called to Whispering Oak home struck by pickup truck
Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, 1:45 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to the 1000 block of Whispering Oak Drive off Old Bloomfield Road for a report of a pickup truck that left the road and crashed party through a garage. Nelson County EMS and police also responded to the scene at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Due to the structural damage to the garage door opening, firefighters shored up the opening to allow firefighters to get the driver out of the vehicle. The driver refused transport by EMS. Firefighters were on the scene for more than two hours.

- The Bardstown Fire Department was called Sunday afternoon at 2:06 p.m. to an active fire alarm at Bardstown High School, 400 N. Fifth Street. Before firefighters arrived the school called dispatchers to report the alarm was activated by burnt popcorn. Firefighters were on the scene for about 10 minutes to help reset the alarm.
- Firefighters were called out at 7:06 p.m. Sunday to the 100 block of Hubbards Lane for a reported field fire caused by downed power lines. The fire was out when firefighters arrived on scene. They stayed on scene until a Salt River Electric representative arrived. Firefighters were on scene for about 40 minutes.
