Obituary: Jeffrey Tanner Strong, 16, Lebanon

Jeffrey Tanner Strong, 16, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014. He was born Sept. 13, 1997, in Lebanon. funeral_lilyHe was an avid UK fan and a student at Marion County High School who enjoyed cross country, riding four-wheelers and fishing. His ambition was to become an engineer. He was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church and was an active member in the church’s youth program.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Darrell Lee Strong; and his paternal great-grandparents, Robert T. and Sally Beard Myers.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Joseph Darrell and Lindsay Strong, both of Lebanon; his mother, Stacy Strong of Lebanon; two brothers, Joseph Hayden and Jackson Cash Strong, both of Lebanon; paternal grandparents, Scott and Gayla Thomas of Calvary; maternal grandparents, Randall and Robbie Cox of Springfield and Debbie Cox of Lebanon; paternal stepgrandparents, Mike and Janelle O’Daniel of Lebanon; paternal great-grandmother Eveleen Thomas of Calvary; maternal great-grandparents, J.W. and Jean Maupin; two aunts Amy (Mike) Sheehan and Ariel Myers (Tatum-Michael Gorley); two uncles, Brad (Michelle) Cox and Dylan Thomas; one stepuncle, Devin O’Daniel; and several cousins and many friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, officiated by Bro. Neal Gordon. Burial is in the Ryder Cemetery.

Visitation is after 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon, and 9-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
