ROBERT L. “BOB” MILES
Robert L. “Bob” Miles, 82, of Louisville, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He was born July 4, 1931, in Loretto. He worked at Belknap Inc. for 37 years and Fire King International for 7 years. He was an active member of St. Rita Catholic Church. He was a devoted father and a friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Katherine Mattingly Miles; and three brothers, J.W. Miles, Jr., Elmer Miles and Frankie Miles.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Emma Jean Mattingly Miles; three daughters, Suzanne Cwiak (Rich) of Frankfort, Kathy Miles (Jim) and Carol Prewitt, both of Louisville; two sons, Steve Miles (Donna) of Hamilton, Ohio and Ed Miles (Cathy) of Louisville; four sisters, Betty Lou Thompson and Therese Hamilton (Leon), both of Loretto, Linda Medley (Dave) of Mount Washington and Mary Catherine Lamkin (Bill) of New Mexico; one brother, Louie Miles (Lorene) of Louisville; five grandchildren, Chris Renaud (Jenny), Michelle Renaud, Anthony Miles, Katelyn Prewitt and Abigail Prewitt; and two great-grandsons, Michael and Robert Renaud.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Highway, Louisville, with burial in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, 8785 Highway 52, St. Francis with the Rev. Charles Howell as celebrant.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Highway, Louisville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made by check to St. Rita Church “Building Fund,” 8709 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40219.
Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
