Obituary: Valerie A. Veech, 74, Bardstown
VALERIE A. VEECH
Valerie A. Veech, 74, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Baptist Health. She was born Dec. 22, 1939, in Louisville. She retired from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Departments. She was a 1957 graduate from Holy Rosary Academy, co-owner of Montgomery Ward Store and worked at Mago Construction. She was a volunteer for Hospice of Nelson County, Road to Recovery and the American Cancer Society. She was a member of the Nelson County Pork Producers and she was named Nelson County Senior of the Month in 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Martha Frederick.
She is survived by husband, Ronnie Veech Sr. of Bardstown; one daughter, Vicki Ward of Bardstown; three sons, Ronnie Veech Jr. of Dallas, Mike Veech and Keith Veech, both of Bardstown; one sister, Cynthia Hoyer of Jeffersontown; two brothers, Gary Frederick of Daphane, Ala., and Bart Frederick of Bardstown; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, 2-8 p.m. Feb. 26, 2014, and 9–10:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at Barlow Funeral Home.
