Two-car collision knocks out Fifth Street traffic light

Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2014, 11 a.m. — No one was injured Tuesday morning in a two-car accident at the intersection of Fifth Street and West Stephen Foster Avenue that knocked out the traffic signal.
Bardstown Police and Nelson County EMS were called out at 9:18 a.m. for a possible injury head-on collision between two vehicles. One of the vehicles struck the control box for the traffic light, disabling it. Two of the individuals involved in the accident refused treatment by EMS. Bardstown Police stayed at the intersection directing traffic until temporary stop signs could be placed on both sides of Fifth Street. Use caution approaching that intersection while repairs were being made to the traffic light.
