Snow closes schools; girls 5th regional basketball games undecided

Monday, March 3, 2014 — Due to the overnight ice and snowfall, the following closings have been announced:

– Nelson County Schools

– Bardstown Independent Schools

– Nelson County Justice Center

– LaRue County Justice Center

– Nelson County Clerk’s Office

NOTE: The 5th Region Girls Basketball Tournament Games scheduled for Monday night have NOT yet been canceled. According to Bill Broaddus, NCHS athletic director, the games will be played on schedule if possible. Check the Gazette or WBRT radio for the latest updates on the regional games.

Tonight’s matchups include Nelson County vs. Caverna at 6:30 p.m. and Elizabethtown vs. Caverna at 8 p.m.. Tomorrow’s lineup features LaRue County vs. North Hardin at 6:30 p.m. and Marion County vs. Bethlehem at 8 p.m.

The next round up play is set for Friday night, with the 5th Region championship game set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday
