Obituary: William A. ‘Billy’ Hahn, 80, Chaplin

William A. “Billy” Hahn, 80, of Chaplin, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at his home. He was a native of Chaplin, funeral_lilya farmer, and a member of the Chaplin Christian Church, Disciples of Christ where he also served as an elder. He was the President of the Highview Cemetery committee, a former member of the Nelson County Planning and Zoning Commission, and a director of King Southern Bank. He was also an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Audria Ockerman Hahn.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Thomas “Tommie” Walker Hahn; one daughter, Dee (James Allen) Wiggs of Cox’s Creek, two sons, Bill (Sherry) Hahn and Brent (Kim) Hahn, both of Chaplin; two sisters, Freda (Harold) Prather of Chaplin and Nancy (Rudolph) Redmon of Bloomfield; one brother, Joe Ray (Elizabeth) Hahn of Chaplin; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Lee Cox officiating. Burial is in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Chaplin Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
