Obituary: Ethel Mae Smith, 71, Bardstown

Ethel Mae Smith, 71, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born June 27, 1942, in Nelson County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Ida Jackson; and two brothers, Charles Jackson, and Harlan Jackson.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Burton, Brenda Miles, Karen Baxter, and Lisa Anderson, all of Nelson County; two sons, William Thomas “Boo” Smith, and Donnie Smith, both of Nelson County; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Case of Louisville; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren;

The funeral is 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Barlow Funeral Home. Burial is in the Elizabethtown City Cemetery.

Visitation is 3–8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, and 9–10 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at the funeral home.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
