SUV driver cited after observed by police passing in emergency lane
Wednesday, March 12, 2014, 8:55 a.m. — The driver of a green SUV received multiple citations Wednesday morning after leading police on a chase that began on KY 245 and ended in the parking lot of Nelson County High School.
At about 8:10 a.m., a Bardstown City Police officer reported he was in pursuit of a green SUV he observed using the emergency lane to pass traffic on KY 245 near Spencer Mattingly Lane. The officer pursued the SUV after it turned onto Spencer Mattingly to Woodlawn Road, where it turned onto Woodlawn Road and headed toward Bloomfield Road. The vehicle then entered the high school parking lot and stopped.
The officer was joined by several other city police units and a deputy sheriff. The driver was cited by police and released.
