Obituary: Mildred Marie Patton, 67, Chaplin

Mildred Marie Patton, 67, of Chaplin, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at her home.  She was born June 1, 1946, in funeral_lilySpencer County. She was a retired bus driver for the Nelson County Schools, a member of Town and Country Homemakers, Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Old Kentucky Home # 136, the Mad Dashers Quilt Club in New Haven, the Tabernacle Quilt Group, and Chaplin Baptist Church where she was a part of C.V.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Dessie Cook; and one nephew, Brian Cook.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Patton of Chaplin; one son, Mike (Annette) Patton of Bardstown; three grandchildren, Michael Thomas Patton, Michaela Brooke Patton, and Morgan Trace Patton; one sister, Hazel Edwards of Mount Washington; and one brother, Arthur Ray Cook of Spencer County.

Her funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Chaplin Baptist Church with burial in Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville.  Brother Mark Glasscock will officiate. 

Visitation is 3 – 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014,  at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown, and 9 – 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Chaplin Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may go to Kosair Children’s Hospital.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
