Obituary: Rose Marie ‘Rosie’ Johnson, 72, New Haven
Rose Marie “Rosie” Johnson, 72, of New Haven, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
She was born and raised in New Haven by the late Clarence Roberts Johnson Sr and Mary Finetta Hayden Johnson. She was a Catholic by faith and a member of the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. She retired from Jewish Hospital as a Nursing Assistant.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Nicholas G. Johnson Sr., Joseph Hayden Johnson, and David Christopher “Red Eye” Johnson.
She is survived by her stepmother, Sister Jean Johnson of Loretto; two sisters, Karen Johnson Downs (David) of Bardstown and Mary Dean Beyke (Jim) of Central City; four brothers, James Phillip “Phil” Johnson (Margaret) and Jack Johnson (Carol), both of Bardstown, Clarence Roberts “Bobby” Johnson Jr (Guyula) of New Haven and Bernard Kevin Johnson (Marie) of Indianapolis; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Ken Fortener officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, and 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven. A prayer service is 5 p.m. Sunday.
