Deadline to apply for Bluegrass Cellular scholarships is April 1

Monday, March 17, 2014, 4:30 p.m. — Bluegrass Cellular is still accepting applications for its annual scholarship program. This spring, the company will award 18 scholarships valued at $1,500 each to select graduating seniors who bluegrass-cellularattend high school in Bluegrass’s 40-county home-service area. Students have from now until Tuesday, April 1, 2014, to apply.

“Giving back has always been an important part of who we are as a company,” said Barry Nothstine, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Bluegrass Cellular. “The bright young students in our surrounding communities hold so much potential for the region, and we’re happy to support them in their pursuits of higher education.”

Scholarship recipients will be selected by a panel of judges based on criteria including financial need, academic achievement, and school and community involvement. Applicants must also submit a copy of their high school transcript, two letters of recommendation and a personal essay. Winners will be notified in May 2014.

Interested applicants can also pick up an application from their school guidance counselors or one of Bluegrass Cellular’s Customer Care Centers.
