2014 CPAC winner Sen. Rand Paul to visit local GOP Lincoln Day Dinner Friday

Monday, March 17, 2014, 4 p.m. — U.S. Sen. Rand Paul is set to headline the annual Nelson County GOP Lincoln Dinner this Friday evening, March 21, at the Bardstown Country Club at Maywood.

The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. with guest speakers scheduled throughout the evening.

Among many those who will speak are Agriculture Commissioner Jamie Comer, former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, state Sen. Jimmy Higdon, state Rep. David Floyd, and Matt Bevin, Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate.

Also giving brief addresses will be Jim Waters of the Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions and Richard Nelson of the Commonwealth Policy ncorwCenter. In addition, the Nelson GOP will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Nelson County Organization of Republican Women.

“We have had a great deal of buzz surrounding this particular event,” said Robert Augustine, chairman of the Republican Party of Nelson County. “It’s exciting to have such a great lineup of speakers, and it’s a special honor
to welcome Sen. Paul, whom many consider to be the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016.”

The event includes a silent auction and dinner. The price is just $30 per person.
