Firefighters respond to reported brush fire find shed being burned
Monday, March 17, 2014, 9 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called Monday night to the area of Nita Drive off KY 245 for a reported large brush fire at 7:39.
Firefighters located the fire, which was a controlled burn that had been previously reported, behind a home in the 2800 block of Old Nazareth Road. The resident was burning a large wooden shed behind the home. Firefighters checked the woods behind the burning building to be sure the fire hadn’t spread. The flames from the fire compromised the overhead power lines, and a representative from Salt River Electric disconnected power to the home to allow firefighters to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters cleared the scene at 8:36 p.m.
