Obituary: Catherine Hill McIlvoy, 82, formerly of Burgin and Lebanon

Catherine Hill McIlvoy, 82, formerly of Burgin and Lebanon, died funeral_lilyThursday, March 20, 2014, at Springfield Nursing and Rehab Center in Springfield.

She was born April 5, 1931 in Washington County. She was a former member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Harrodsburg and St. Charles Catholic Church in St. Mary’s.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Philip “Phil” Hill; three sisters, Beaulah Smith, Ann Tingle and Mary Alice Carrico; and three brothers, Robert Carrico, Reuben Carrico and Paul Carrico.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil McIlvoy of Burgin; four daughters, Phyllis Brown (Ritchey) of Harrodsburg, Donna Peterson (Jerry) of Loretto, Carolyn O’Daniel (Doug) of Lebanon and Laura Lair (Brian) of Mooreland; one son, James Philip Hill II (Paula) of De Forest, Wisc.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 675 Highway 327 in Lebanon with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. James W. Graf is the celebrant.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a 7 p.m. prayer service with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers include Ritchie Brown, Jerry Peterson, Doug O’Daniel, Brian Lair, Linton Brown, Corey O’Daniel, Brandon O’Daniel and Jordon O’Daniel.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
