Rapier announces he won’t run to keep county school board seat

Friday, March 21, 2014, 2:45 p.m. — When current Nelson County school board member Nicky Rapier’s term ends this year it will be his last. Rapier, who is in his second term, confirmed that he will not seek re-election to the county school board and said when he ran for the position he intended to serve no more than two terms.

Rapier joins longtime board member Frank Hall of New Haven who will is not seeking re-election. Hall has served more than 30 years on the county school board.

The filing deadline for non-partisan races is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014.
