Driver dies in crash after striking utility pole on Bellwood Rd.

Saturday, March 22, 2014, 1 a.m. — The driver of a Toyota Corolla died Friday night in a single vehicle crash on Bellwood Road off of Boston Road.

Nelson County EMS, police and the Bardstown and Boston Fire departments responded to a report of the crash at about 10:24 p.m. Apparently the vehicle left the roadway, ran up an embankment and crashed into a utility pole.

Firefighters arrived first on the scene and reported the victim was deceased. The Nelson County Coroner was requested to respond. Firefighters then used their equipment to remove the victim from the vehicle.

Firefighters were on scene until 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
