Obituary: Eudora Mattingly, 81, Bardstown
Eudora Mattingly, 81, of Bardstown, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Nelson County. She was a homemaker and an avid quilter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Nora Auberry; two sisters, Elizabeth Downs and Thelma Wheeler; two brothers, William Auberry and Nekomos Auberry.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Mattingly of Bardstown; four daughters, Ginnie (Danny) Keeling of New Hope, Laura Greenwell and Fran (Jodie) Filiatreau, both of Bardstown, and Pam (Donnie) Taylor of New Haven; three sons, Tony (Mary Jo) Mattingly and Kenny Mattingly, both of Bardstown, and John Paul Mattingly of California; three sisters, Elsie Smith of Nazareth, Georgia Bradley of Bardstown and Helen Reid of Louisville; one sister-in-law, Margaret Auberry; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will officiate.
Visitation is 3–8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, and 9–10:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service is 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may go to the St. Joseph Bereavement Committee.
