STAFF REPORT

police-with-tape-car.previewMonday, March 24, 2014, 11:55 p.m. — Bardstown Police were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the area of the 100 block of Atlantic Court off Susannah Drive just after 5 p.m. Monday.

According to witnesses, two black males fled an Atlantic Court residence and got into a white SUV and left. A third black male — who was apparently injured and bleeding — followed the pair outside the home and got into a silver Chevy Tahoe and pursued the men in the white SUV. Witnesses at the scene said the third man fired the shots.

City police were joined by deputies from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office in a search for the two vehicles. Flaget Memorial Hospital and hospitals in surrounding counties were asked to be on the alert for the victim, who may seek treatment at their emergency rooms. The Bardstown Police Department’s evidence technician responded to the scene to process the evidence police located. During their investigation, police also processed evidence located at a home on Tyler Court.

More than 90 minutes into their investigation, an EMS ambulance was requested to respond to the Atlantic Court residence for a male subject there with heavy bleeding from a facial laceration. The subject was transported from the scene directly to University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.
